NURSING SERVICES

UCP of Arkansas’ Nursing services reach many individuals striving for independence and facing daily challenges, such as living independently with medical issues. We train clients and their staff on matters pertaining to safety, infection control, first aid, medications and CPR.  We work directly with clients, families, therapists and staff to ensure we achieve a holistic approach with all of our clients we serve.

THERAPY SERVICES

Therapy is provided as an on-site program for children and adults to maximize each individual’s highest potential. Evaluations are conducted with the referral from a primary physician, and we develop individualized plans to address specific client needs. Occupation, physical, and speech-language therapists are licensed and highly trained to provide one-on-one services to qualifying individuals and their families.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Occupational therapy (OT) assists people to function as effectively as possible in their everyday environments. Therapists work to improve sensory integration, fine and visual motor development, social interaction, and self-help deficits, which could affect learning and daily independent living skills. Therapists are also skilled in hand splinting and the Snoezelen Treatment Approach.

PHYSICAL THERAPY

Physical therapy (PT) treats individuals with motor, neuromuscular, and vestibular delays. Therapists provide treatment involving neuro-development therapy, e-stim and muscle reeducation, coordination/balance training, play-based therapeutic exercise, functional movement activities, and gait training. They also assist in obtaining orthotic casting and adaptive equipment (wheelchairs, walkers, positioning systems, seats, etc.). Our therapists are educated on Botox injections and Baclofen pump protocols.

SPEECH-LANGUAGE THERAPY

Speech-language Pathology (SLP) works to improve a person’s ability to communicate in their environment. Therapy addresses the improvement of speech sound production, reading, aural rehabilitation, understanding and expressing language to communicate and learn, and oral motor strategies to improve swallowing/feeding deficits. SLP also evaluates and trains clients to use alternative communication systems if needed.

WAIVER SERVICES

The Community Employment Service (CES), commonly referred to as “Medicaid Waiver”, is a Medicaid funded program that provides service and support for individuals so they may live in their community and not institutions or nursing homes.  The CES program is based on a Multi-Agency Plan of Services (MAPS) that provides each program participant with an individualized plan of services and supports to meet their unique needs. Through the CES program, we are able to provide direct services to individuals across the state.
